Group Classes for Homeschoolers
The following organizations offer after-school, during school, and virtual programs for homeschoolers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) fields.
Science
HSB provides science, social studies, and history classes to homeschool students.
Technology & Engineering
Kids robotics provides a hands-on experience in solving real world challenges and exposes students to physics, mechanics, electronics, programming, vocabulary building, and much more.
Arts
Kids Making Movies! Movie Making classes after school for ages 6 to 12 years. Students learn both in front and behind the camera’s, from writing, directing, to starring in their own movies. We show case student films at the historical River Oaks Theater at the Joy Kids Red Carpet Premiere. The program builds confidence, creativity, media literacy skills, and self-expression.
The Glassell Junior School is an art school for young people ages 3–18, devoted to nurturing creativity and dedicated to fostering an appreciation of the arts and an awareness of the world.
Math
Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP)
Duke TIP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving academically gifted and talented youth. As a global leader in gifted and talented education, Duke TIP works with students, their families, and educators to identify, recognize, challenge, engage, and help students reach their highest potential.
Money Fit Kids
A financial literacy program for 8-12 year olds that teaches children about money from a faith-based, age appropriate, and practical perspective. During this program, children have the opportunity to learn the value of entrepreneurship through working in groups and building their own businesses.
